Czech day
We offer three types of different program how to spend “Czech day”. All programs will be describe more briefly bellow. First two activities will be “water program” third one is “land program”. The land program will be held in the case of very unfavorable weather for all participants.
- Rafting/canoeing on Otava river
Otava is one of the most famous rivers for Czech sea scouts. It springs in the Bohemian Forest and on headwater is for well experienced kayakers. Our trip will start in city of Sušice about 70 km from Plzeň. The whole trip will be about 16 km long. Along our trips we pass several simple weirs and several simple rapids. It is possible to see beautiful ruins of Czech’s biggest castle Rabí from water-level. You will see one of most interesting activity of Czech sea scouts, if you choose this program. All safety equipment, canoes, rafts and medical supervision will be fully provided by organizers.
- Sailing on Borská reservoir
Czech sea scouts two new types of sailboats have developed. You will see both of them – P550 and NordStar boat and you try to use them in the case of a good weather. Borská reservoir is close to conference venue, about 30 min by bus. P550 is suitable for sailing as well as for rivering. NordStar is the sailboat convenient for sailing on big ponds or lakes. In the case of unfavorable weather the visitation of sailing boats and other equipment will be on.
- Sight-seeing of Plzeň and surroundings
There are many touristic interesting places in the city of Plzeň and its surroundings. We will show them to you with our experienced guides. What will you see, for example? Historical city centre with many picturesque houses and churches. One of these churches is St. Bartholomew’s cathedral with the highest tower in the Czech Republic – 102.26 m. Other attraction is Pilsner Urquell brewery with the best bier in the World. You will to degust it directly in stone cellars of brewery.
